Practically Perfectly imperfect in every way!
Isn’t that supposed to read practically PERFECT in every way
Well if you are Mary Poppins that is.
After all she was the epitome of being practically perfect in ever way.
She knew what to magic out of her bag at every turn and her no nonsense outlook got the job done.
As a child, I thought she was a bit prim and cold but I realised she had a job to do.
This all started when my husband appeared with some frozen perfectly imperfect berries.
It got me thinking…..
These berries are fantastic and full of nutrients. They are delicious to eat and make great smoothies.
So what wrong with them?
Well nothing really….. it just they don’t look that great.
Some are bigger and others are smaller.
There are berries with a bit missing and there are some misshapen.
So why are we always wanting and buying the “perfect” strawberry or raspberry.
It stops us appreciating the benefits of all fruit.
This striving for perfection contributes to food waste which is a travesty for all concerned.
I think the small berries are more juicy and flavoursome (as an 80s advert would also attest to and agree!).
So why do we think that we need to be perfect in order to be a good doctor, mother, daughter or partner/wife?
Why can’t we be happy to be the best and most flavoursome fruit we can be?
It doesn’t matter how “perfect” we seem from the outside or inside.
