Where do you want to be?
I woke up this morning and looked outside
I realised just wanted to be there,
not here,
I wanted to be out in the sunshine, letting the sun warm my bones.
The garden was calling to me,
Telling me I need to stop and literally smell the (my) roses.
I have been through a few tricky months (and am still going though it).
My brain needs a moment to settle and I need to get back in touch with my inner wisdom.
I know what I need, but often I let everything else come in and override it.
Work, family and friends – even the washing comes first- well you cannot waste a hot sunny day to dry the clothes after all!
I know if I allow this to develop, I will either get sick, or so frustrated I will become “difficult” to live with.
What am I going to do?
So I am going to go out now and I am going to sit and be still – difficult for me.
I will find out what I am trying to tell myself and listen this time.
Making a list of all the things that are worrying me and upsetting me, as well as all the things that need to be done will help. I am planning to do this outside, on my patio with a cuppa tea and possibly a snaffled gluten free brownie bite that has my name on it!
Looking at it on paper makes it all so manageable. You can see the important things and the things that “would be nice to do” as well as the just darn stupid things my brain likes to tell me MUST be done this minute (like the washing).
After doing this I know I will chuckle to myself and make my plan and feel a bit more in control.
Its all about the time and space. Its about listening to what you are trying to tell yourself you need.
